The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced the formation of the SIA Veterans in Security community, aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by veterans and active military members in the security industry. To support this initiative, SIA has appointed eight distinguished leaders from the industry to its Advisory Board.
The new community is dedicated to providing essential resources, programs, and events tailored for veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and active military personnel who are transitioning to civilian roles. Membership is open to all veterans, members of the Armed Forces, and supporters, regardless of their direct military affiliation.
The inaugural members of the SIA Veterans in Security Advisory Board include:

– Katie Bourbeau, Executive Director of Federal Business Development at Convergint (U.S. Marine Corps)
– Darren Crawford, Vice President of Channel Partnerships at ZeroEyes (U.S. Air Force)
– James Marcella, Director of Industry Associations at Axis Communications (U.S. Navy)
– Steven McCory, Sales Director at Virtual Guarding (U.S. Army)
– Cesar Montalvo, End User Consultant at Allegion (U.S. Air Force)
– Cyrus Nelson, Field Sales Engineer for Federal Government Solutions at LenelS2 (U.S. Coast Guard)
– Jeff Slotnick, President of Setracon (U.S. Army)

With the establishment of this community, SIA aims to create a supportive network that empowers military personnel as they navigate their careers in the security sector.
