This year’s survey highlights that as urban families face growing pressures to balance work and family responsibilities
Ahead of Children’s Day, a new “Happiness Survey” by the Security Solutions division of Godrej & Boyce, part of the Godrej Enterprise Group, reveals that 70 per cent of parents across India now consider home security a primary concern when leaving their children unattended. This surpasses worries about health emergencies and emotional wellbeing, which were cited by 57 per cent and 44 per cent of respondents, respectively. The survey underscores the increasing importance of home security as a vital aspect of family peace of mind, with Godrej aiming to further integrate these concerns into daily family life.
This year’s survey highlights that as urban families face growing pressures to balance work and family responsibilities, security solutions have become a significant source of reassurance. Home surveillance systems have emerged as the top security choice for parents, with 40 per cent of respondents opting for home cameras to ensure safety. Other technologies, such as remote monitoring systems, are also gaining traction, indicating a shift in perception where home security extends beyond physical protection to play a critical role in mental and emotional well-being.

As urbanisation and dual-income households become increasingly common, the demand for robust security solutions is growing. Godrej’s extensive product line, which includes CCTV and Wi-Fi-enabled cameras, video door phones, and advanced alarm systems, addresses these evolving needs, providing parents with peace of mind as they fulfil work and other commitments.
Highlighting its commitment to children’s safety, Godrej has also equipped schools nationwide with nearly 1,300 CCTV cameras, including notable institutions such as Shanthinektan, Unicent School, and Rama Devi Public School. These installations are aimed at enhancing student safety and promoting a secure learning environment.
The “Happiness Survey” engaged 2,400 respondents aged 18 to 45 and above, with a demographic breakdown of 45 per cent male and 43 per cent female participants. Conducted across 12 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Chennai, the survey offers insights into consumer views on security and family happiness, presenting a comprehensive picture of evolving perspectives on safety in India.
