In an incident that occurred on the evening of December 7, 2023, an FIR was filed on Tuesday against the security personnel of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president, Om Prakash Rajbhar. The complaint was made by Ashutosh Kumar, a 28-year-old lawyer from Rae Bareli road, who claimed to have been thrashed by unidentified security personnel when Rajbhar’s convoy passed by on VIP road.
Ashutosh Kumar, narrating the incident, mentioned that he and his friend were returning home on a two-wheeler after meeting a client at Krishna Nagar. When they reached Telibagh crossing, they found themselves parallel to the second vehicle in Rajbhar’s convoy. Suddenly, some men descended from the car and started attacking Ashutosh.
Despite informing the assailants that he was a lawyer, they allegedly continued to beat him while his friend attempted to intervene. Ashutosh reported the incident to Dial 112, prompting a police team to arrive and transport him to the hospital. He further alleged that the attackers acted on the leader’s direction.
Ashutosh expressed frustration with the delayed response from the police station, stating, “I also tried to register a case in the police station, but they kept delaying, after which I had to take the court’s route.”
