Security Guard In Sachin Tendulkar’s Protection Allegedly Shoots Himself In Neck: Report

Kapde allegedly ended his life by shooting himself in the neck with his service gun, leaving behind his elderly parents, wife, two young children, a brother, and other relatives. The incident occurred around 1:30 am at Kapde’s residence

A tragic incident unfolded in Jamner town as a State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan, part of the security team for cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, reportedly took his own life at his family home. The deceased, identified as Prakash Kapde, aged 39, had returned to his ancestral place for a brief vacation.

Kapde allegedly ended his life by shooting himself in the neck with his service gun, leaving behind his elderly parents, wife, two young children, a brother, and other relatives. The incident occurred around 1:30 am at Kapde’s residence. While initial investigations suggest personal reasons might have driven him to this extreme step, the exact cause is yet to be determined.

Senior Police Inspector Kiran Shinde of Jamner Police Station stated, “As per preliminary investigations, he may have taken the extreme step owing to certain personal reasons, but we are waiting for the full details of the probe.” Kapde’s body has been sent for autopsy, and the police have filed an accidental death report, pending further inquiries involving questioning of family, colleagues, and acquaintances.

Given the involvement of a jawan tasked with VVIP security, sources have indicated that SRPF will conduct an independent inquiry into the incident. This move aims to ascertain all the facts surrounding the tragedy.
