Sparsh CCTV Leads Industry In Achieving Full Range Cyber-Security Certification From STQC

These measures aim to enhance the security and reliability of CCTV systems under the “Make in India” initiative, promote domestic manufacturing, and ensure that surveillance systems used across the country are secure and free from vulnerabilities

Sparsh CCTV, a major player in video surveillance and security solutions, has announced that it is the first company globally to receive the IoTSCS certification for its IoT product (CCTV Camera) from the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC). The company states that its entire product range is now cyber-secured.

In March 2024, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued a Public Procurement Preference to support the “Make in India” initiative, in line with a 2017 Order. This notification focuses on the procurement of CCTV and video surveillance systems for security purposes, setting clear “Essential Requirements (ER)” for these devices. The ERs aim to ensure the security and integrity of CCTV systems used in both public and private sectors.

The key components of these requirements include:

Detailed Testing Parameters: These parameters ensure that the hardware and software of CCTV systems are secure, protecting against data leaks and potential security threats.

Security Testing Report: CCTV and Video Surveillance Systems (VSS) must undergo security testing by the STQC Directorate to meet stringent government security standards.

Secure Process Conformance: This involves validating that the components used in CCTV systems are sourced through a trusted value chain, meeting specific security and quality criteria to ensure product integrity.

In-house R&D Registration: Companies conducting in-house research and development must register their R&D units with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) in India. This ensures that R&D activities meet DSIR standards.

Mandatory Compliance: The ERs specified in the notification are mandatory for all CCTV and Video Surveillance System procurements. Entities looking to purchase such systems must ensure that the products meet these security and quality standards.

These measures aim to enhance the security and reliability of CCTV systems under the “Make in India” initiative, promote domestic manufacturing, and ensure that surveillance systems used across the country are secure and free from vulnerabilities.

Commenting on the certification, Mr. Sanjeev Sehgal, Founder & MD of Sparsh CCTV, said, “We are immensely proud to be the first company to get this certification across all our products. India has taken the lead in setting up surveillance industry compliance in the world, and Sparsh CCTV has taken the lead in being 100% aligned with this compliance. This validates our commitment to providing top-tier surveillance solutions and enhances our ability to contribute to the national security and safety of our nation. We will continue to serve the country and make the world a safe, secure, and better place to live with made-in-India products and solutions that are secure, innovative, and technologically advanced.”
