The CCTV footage shows the two men standing near a hospital lift, being asked by a male security guard to move away from the lift doors
Two men were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting two security guards, including a woman, at a private hospital in Noida’s Sector 128, police said. The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday evening and was captured on CCTV. A video of the altercation was widely shared on social media, drawing significant attention.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Akshay Sehgal (33), a resident of Delhi, and his cousin Vaibhav Sehgal (27), who lives in Palm Tower, Sector 108, Noida, according to Manish Kumar Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The altercation occurred at Jaypee Hospital in Sector 128 around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the police, Vaibhav and Akshay arrived at the hospital to visit a relative who was undergoing treatment but did not have the required attendant pass. When the security guards asked them to follow the hospital’s protocols, the situation escalated.
“The security guard near the lift informed them that without an attendant pass, they could not proceed further. This upset the two, who then started assaulting the guard,” said ADCP Mishra.
The CCTV footage shows the two men standing near a hospital lift, being asked by a male security guard to move away from the lift doors. Suddenly, one of the men shoves the guard, and both begin to physically attack him. A female security guard attempts to intervene but is also pushed away by the men.
As the attack continues, more hospital staff and bystanders arrive to stop the altercation. However, the men kept hitting the guard, as seen in the video, which lasts two minutes and eleven seconds.
Following the incident, the accused fled the hospital. Krishnapal, the hospital’s security in-charge, later filed a police complaint, leading to an FIR being registered under Sections 170, 126, and 135 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) at Sector 126 police station, said the ADCP.
The police arrested the two men on Wednesday afternoon from Sector 126. “They were produced before a local court and have been sent to judicial custody,” ADCP Mishra confirmed.
No further updates have been provided on the condition of the assaulted guards.
