Police confirmed that Guard was murdered due to a dispute over an alleged illicit relationship with a woman in the area
Kundrathur Police have taken two suspects in custody in a gruesome murder case involving the killing and dismemberment of a security guard from Cuddalore district. The suspects, identified as Dileep Kumar, 34, and his associate Vicky alias Vignesh, 22, were arrested in connection with the heinous crime that took place a month ago.
Authorities discovered a human torso tied with a stone in the Sembarambakkam lake in Saraswathi Nagar, Sirukalathur near Kundrathur. Despite intensive searches, the head and hands of the victim could not be located initially. However, after thorough investigation using details like the victim’s clothing and other identifying factors, the deceased was identified as Boominathan, a 33-year-old security guard employed at a private firm in Ramapuram.
Police confirmed that Boominathan was murdered due to a dispute over an alleged illicit relationship with a woman in the area. Dileep Kumar, also employed as a security guard at the same firm, confessed during interrogation that he harbored feelings for the woman in question and had financially supported her. However, his friend Boominathan’s involvement with her despite owing Dileep money led to a violent confrontation.
On December 27, Dileep and Vignesh abducted Boominathan, during which Dileep fatally shot him in the head as he attempted to flee. Following the murder, the perpetrators dismembered the body into six parts and disposed of them in separate locations, including the Sembarambakkam lake and Vandalur, approximately 12 kilometers away.
During the investigation, police recovered two unlicensed guns, 17 bullets procured from Rajasthan, and two knives from Dileep Kumar. Additionally, it was revealed that Dileep, after committing the crime and disposing of the body, traveled to Sabarimala.
This disturbing case underscores the importance of thorough police investigations and serves as a reminder of the heinous consequences of unresolved disputes. The arrest of the suspects brings a measure of closure to the victim’s family and highlights the dedication of law enforcement in bringing perpetrators of such crimes to justice.
