Integrated into the BarracudaONE platform, the new tool leverages generative AI to help security teams and MSPs navigate complex threats and close skills gaps

I Barracuda Networks, a leading cybersecurity provider, today announced the launch of Barracuda Assistant, an artificial intelligence-powered tool designed to accelerate security operations (SecOps) and bolster organizational cyber resilience. Integrated directly into the BarracudaONE platform, the assistant aims to simplify complex security workflows for businesses and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

The launch comes as security teams face escalating pressure from increasingly sophisticated and resource-intensive cyberattacks.

“Barracuda Assistant empowers users of all skill levels to investigate threats quickly and confidently, even in the face of complex attacks,” said Brian Downey, Vice President of Product Management at Barracuda. “We’re helping organizations close critical skills gaps, reduce human error and simplify security workflows that have traditionally been time-consuming and fragmented.”

Smarter, Data-Driven Security

The core function of the Barracuda Assistant is to provide real-time, data-driven guidance, making security management faster and more intuitive. By leveraging Barracuda AI, the tool allows users to:

Quickly navigate and investigate active threats.

Troubleshoot complex issues rapidly.

Access actionable insights, including deployment metrics and configuration recommendations.

By eliminating the need for security teams to constantly switch context between different tools, the company claims the assistant accelerates threat response, cuts down on costly errors, and allows analysts to focus on higher-impact, strategic priorities.

Dave Gruber, Principal Analyst for Omdia, commented on the trend: “The use of generative AI and digital assistants in security operations is delivering measurable improvements across many SecOps functions, including threat investigation and response, threat hunting, operationalizing threat intelligence, and more. These improvements are translating into increases in both efficacy and efficiency.”

The intelligence behind the assistant is constantly updated by Barracuda’s industry-leading global threat intelligence network, ensuring that every recommendation and alert reflects the latest threat patterns and proven best practices. This continuous feed aims to help organisations maintain a proactive security posture against evolving tactics.

Barracuda Assistant is currently available within the BarracudaONE platform and is slated for near-future integration into Barracuda XDR, Barracuda SecureEdge, and the company’s support portal.
