Gallagher Security has opened its 2026 Security Industry Trends Survey, seeking insights from professionals
The initiative follows the company’s 2025 Security Industry Trends Report, which analysed developments ranging from the rise of mobile credentials to the growing importance of trust and relationships in end-user decision-making. Gallagher says last year’s findings supported teams worldwide in planning digital transformation, addressing budget constraints, and adapting to new technologies.
The 2026 survey aims to identify emerging shifts, challenges, and objectives for those responsible for security — from integrators and consultants to IT specialists and end users. It will examine top security goals, the most common obstacles encountered, and practical difficulties during installations, upgrades, and broader digital transformation efforts.
A key focus will be the sector’s changing expectations around artificial intelligence. The survey seeks to establish where enthusiasm for AI is matched by concrete planning, and where a gap remains between ambition and implementation. It will also assess how organisations are preparing for the potential impact of quantum computing on security — an area attracting increased scrutiny.
Security teams’ roles within organisations are another area of interest, particularly the shift from being viewed as a cost centre to a strategic contributor to operational resilience and business performance.
Findings from the survey will be compiled into the 2026 Security Industry Trends Report, which Gallagher says will be available as a free resource. The company describes participation as an opportunity for professionals at all levels to help shape a clearer picture of what is working, what is changing, and where further attention is needed in the sector.
