A street food cart selling vada pav in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district was destroyed after two gas cylinders exploded in quick succession, an official from the fire department confirmed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, which was later contained without further damage.

The explosion occurred recently on a busy street when the cylinders, used for cooking on the food cart, erupted one after the other. “The blasts occurred on a ‘vada pav’ cart where two gas cylinders on it exploded one after the other,” the fire department official said, according to the Press Trust of India.

Although the incident caused panic among bystanders, prompt action from local authorities ensured that the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes. “There was no report of anybody being injured,” the official added.

The cart was completely destroyed in the blaze, leaving behind charred remains of what was once a popular spot for locals to grab a quick snack.

Street food vendors across the region rely heavily on gas cylinders for their operations, making safety measures a critical concern. While this incident ended without casualties, it serves as a reminder of the potential risks associated with handling such equipment in public spaces.

Local authorities are expected to assess the cause of the explosions and review safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
