Proving once again its strength in delivering secure, flexible, and cloud-ready protection for organisations worldwide
Genetec has reaffirmed its position at the forefront of the global video surveillance software market, according to the latest findings from industry analysts Omdia and Novaira Insights. The company has not only retained its number one status in video management software (VMS) but has also claimed the top position in the combined category of VMS plus Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS).
One driving force behind this sustained leadership is the growing customer adoption of Security Center SaaS, introduced in mid-2024. This unified, cloud-based platform has helped Genetec break into the top ten globally for VSaaS and secure the impressive position of number four in the Americas—currently the world’s largest and fastest-growing VSaaS market.
Regionally, Genetec’s dominance is clear: it continues to hold the top spot in the Americas for both traditional video surveillance and the broader surveillance-plus-service category for the 14th consecutive year. In the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, it remains in second place and has achieved the largest market share growth among the top ten vendors. In Asia Pacific (excluding China), it ranks third, buoyed by rapid expansion.
Analysts attribute Genetec’s lead not only to innovation but also to its commitment to openness and flexibility. Omdia’s Senior Analyst Scott Foley notes that Genetec has continued to meet the evolving needs of organisations worldwide by combining unified architectures with scalable cloud security. Novaira’s analysis confirms Genetec as a global front-runner in both software and service contracts, noting the company’s strong performance across hardware and software segments.
Christian Morin, Genetec’s VP of Product Engineering and CSO, emphasises the firm’s philosophy of giving customers “more choice, not less.” Whether organisations prefer on-premises setups, hybrid models, or full cloud deployments, Genetec’s open-architecture approach allows them to use the hardware and systems that best suit their needs—without locking them into proprietary ecosystems.
At a time when physical security systems need to be agile, reliable, and easy to adapt, Genetec continues to set the pace. By blending innovation with openness, it remains the go-to provider for organisations seeking robust, future-ready surveillance solutions.
