As India gears up to celebrate National Tourism Day, a recent Happiness Survey conducted by the Security Solutions Business of Godrej Enterprises Group reveals that 53 per cent of respondents prioritise advanced technology in home security systems. The findings underline an increasing consumer preference for innovative and smart security solutions that ensure peace of mind, particularly for those frequently travelling.

National Tourism Day is a reminder of the vital role tourism plays in India’s economy, with the sector projected to become the third-largest domestic travel market by 2027. In 2024 alone, the tourism industry contributed over INR 25,010 crore in foreign exchange. With travel gaining momentum, securing homes and valuables has become a top priority for travellers seeking uninterrupted peace of mind during their journeys.

The survey also highlighted other key consumer preferences: 50 per cent of respondents value ease of use in security systems, while 44 per cent consider reliability an essential factor. These insights point to the growing demand for smart, user-friendly, and reliable home security systems that provide seamless protection.

Commenting on the findings, Pushkar Gokhale, Executive Vice President and Business Head, Security Solutions Business of Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “The findings from our Happiness Survey reinforce the evolving mindset of consumers who are increasingly adopting smart and advanced security solutions to protect their homes while they travel. In today’s interconnected world, where tourism is on the rise, ensuring home security through technologically advanced solutions not only provides physical protection but also contributes to the overall well-being. At Godrej, we remain committed to empowering our customers with home security solutions that integrate seamlessly into their daily lives and enhance their overall sense of safety and happiness.”

National Tourism Day also serves to celebrate India’s rich cultural and natural heritage, while reflecting the growing importance of travel in modern lifestyles. With more people exploring domestic and international destinations, the need to safeguard homes during their absence has become increasingly critical.

To address these concerns, the Security Solutions Business of Godrej Enterprises Group offers a range of advanced products, including AI-enabled surveillance cameras, intrusion alarm systems, and video door phones. These systems provide homeowners with remote monitoring capabilities and proactive security alerts, ensuring comprehensive protection for their properties.

The Happiness Survey collected responses from 2,400 individuals across 12 major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Chennai. The insights provide a comprehensive view of consumer security preferences and highlight the growing emphasis on technology-driven solutions to meet evolving needs.

As travel trends rise and tourism continues to expand, adopting advanced home security measures has emerged as an essential part of modern living, enabling individuals to explore the world with peace of mind.
