IIRIS Expands Into Africa With Nigeria Office Launch

IIRIS, a global leader in risk management and security solutions, has expanded its footprint into Africa by launching its Nigeria office with a grand opening ceremony at Hotel Lagos Continental. The event, which marked a significant milestone for IIRIS, was attended by top officials from various sectors, including government dignitaries and industry leaders.

Among the notable attendees were high-ranking officials from the Nigerian government, including representatives from the Honourable Minister of Interior, the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Inspector General of Police for Lagos, and the Commander of the Nigeria Civil Defence Commission and Cyber Crime Division.

The chief guest for the event was Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, while Mr. Chandra Mouli, Consul General of India in Lagos, served as the guest of honour.

In his address, Senator Hadejia spoke about the potential impact of IIRIS’s cutting-edge security technology on Nigeria’s security landscape. He expressed optimism that the company’s expertise would introduce advanced security solutions tailored to Nigeria’s needs. Mr. Chandra Mouli highlighted the strong economic ties between Nigeria and India, pointing to India’s $27 billion investment in the Nigerian economy as evidence of their longstanding relationship.

Mr. Satyagopal Bhanja, CEO of IIRIS Nigeria, outlined the company’s commitment to providing high-quality risk management services driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies. He also introduced IIRIS Nigeria’s advisory board, featuring prominent figures such as Dr. Willie Eselebor, a former Controller of Nigeria Immigration and ex-professor at the University of Ibadan; Olusegun H. Olugbile, Cyber Security Policy Advisor; and Major General Salihu Z. Uba, former Nigerian Army DSO.

During a presentation, IIRIS President Mr. Garry Singh and Ms. Sagarika Chakraborty, CEO of IIRIS Gulf & Africa, spoke about the collaboration between Nigeria and India. They emphasized how their partnership could strengthen both nations’ ability to manage global risks, particularly in areas like technology risk management, security technology, forensics, and preventive intelligence.
