IIT Kanpur has announced the launch of a new program aimed at training professionals and cybersecurity enthusiasts in the latest concepts in cybersecurity. This initiative comes as the Indian cybersecurity market is expected to grow significantly, creating over 40,000 job opportunities by 2028.
The program, developed by IIT Kanpur’s cyber security research and technology innovation hub C3iHub, covers a range of topics including application security, web security, network security, mobile security, hardware security, cryptography, IoT security, and critical infrastructure security. It also includes relevant topics in computer science such as operating systems, networking, and mathematics.
With the increasing digitisation across various sectors, there is a growing need for cybersecurity experts to combat cyber threats and safeguard critical information infrastructure. The program, designed for executives, is taught by world-class faculty and researchers from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur.

Sandeep K. Shukla, Programme Coordinator for the eMasters in Cyber Security, emphasized the importance of cybersecurity skills in the face of escalating cyber threats. He stated, “Massive digitisation across sectors and industries has led to an increasing focus on cybersecurity and a demand for professionals trained in relevant skills. The eMasters Degree in Cyber Security will equip professionals with the advanced skills and in-depth knowledge needed to combat the escalating threats of cyberattacks and safeguard critical information infrastructure.”
