LTTS, the engineering and technology services arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has secured a landmark program in India valued at approximately $100 million (Rs 800 crore) from the Maharashtra State Cyber Department.
The initiative aims to bolster public safety against cyber threats by implementing advanced cybersecurity solutions. LTTS, in partnership with KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services, will spearhead this endeavor, focusing on developing a sophisticated cybersecurity system and establishing a “cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention center.”
“This initiative extends LTTS’ commitment to developing secure, digitally interconnected smart and safe cities through premier cyber security and digital forensic solutions consolidated under one umbrella,” stated LTTS in a press release.
Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of LTTS, emphasised the significance of the project, highlighting the company’s experience in setting up over 25 command centers and recognising the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape.
“This first-of-its-kind deal is more than just a business achievement for us. It’s an opportunity to leverage our experience in setting up over 25 command centres and recognising the growing criticality of cyber security and the need to invest in advanced digital safeguard platforms and tools for the benefit of the larger society. This deal will set the stage for LTTS to scale its offerings for our global clientele,” said Chadha
The program entails the creation of a Digital Threat Analytics Center and a Center of Excellence, equipped with cutting-edge digital forensic tools such as deep fake detection, mobile malware forensics, and network forensics, among others. Additionally, LTTS will assist in establishing a Central Emergency Response Team to address incident response and investigation using advanced cyber threat intelligence and analytics.
A “state-of-the-art” Security Operations Center (SOC) will be developed, leveraging AI and machine learning technologies to safeguard critical infrastructure. This SOC will be staffed with skilled cyber professionals to ensure proactive threat detection and response.
The collaboration between LTTS, KPMG, and the Maharashtra government signifies a concerted effort to enhance cybersecurity measures and protect against evolving cyber threats in the digital age.
