MedAire has unveiled a new training programme designed to help aviation professionals identify and manage security threats more effectively, in a bid to strengthen organisational safety cultures across the global aviation sector.
Announced at the Business Aviation Asia Forum & Expo in Singapore on Tuesday, the Basic Aviation Security Awareness Training course is aimed at personnel working across the corporate, private, and commercial aviation ecosystems. The course offers foundational guidance to help flight crew and support teams respond confidently to evolving security risks.
“As operational risks become more dynamic, consistent and accessible security training is not just a necessity – it’s a cornerstone of resilient aviation,” a MedAire spokesperson said.

The company has operated in Southeast Asia for four decades, with a regional base in Singapore, and has steadily expanded its presence across Asia-Pacific, including China, Japan and Australia.
Today, MedAire supports 180 airlines and more than 4,800 business aircraft operators, among them around three-quarters of Fortune 100 companies. Its services range from real-time health and security intelligence to medical support, training, and onboard equipment provision.
The new training programme is intended to bridge gaps in frontline awareness and encourage a more proactive approach to identifying threats — whether physical, operational or behavioural. It also forms part of a wider effort to embed risk preparedness into routine aviation operations, at a time when geopolitical tensions and asymmetric threats are reshaping security postures worldwide.
“Security in aviation is no longer confined to airport perimeters or high-risk destinations. It’s a mobile, shifting challenge,” the spokesperson added. “This course equips professionals with the mindset and skills to think ahead – not just react.”
MedAire said the course would be delivered via flexible learning formats to accommodate diverse team needs, with modules tailored to meet the specific requirements of corporate flight departments, private jet operators and commercial airline crews.
As security threats become more decentralised and unpredictable, aviation companies are being urged to train not just for compliance, but for resilience. With this latest offering, MedAire appears to be reinforcing its long-held belief: that preparedness begins with people, not protocols.
