Securitas Finalises Sale Of French Airport Security Business To WO Group

According to the company, the sale supports its ongoing efforts to assess and refine its global business mix

Global security services company Securitas has completed the divestment of its airport security business in France, transferring ownership to local entity WO Group. The move is part of Securitas’ broader strategic focus on enhancing operational performance and aligning its business portfolio to strengthen long-term competitiveness.

The divested unit generated sales of approximately SEK 1.5 billion (BSEK 1.5) during the full year 2024, but operated with an earnings margin notably lower than the average for Securitas’ European operations.

“We are pleased to have completed the divestment to WO Group,” said Magnus Ahlqvist, President and CEO of Securitas. “WO Group is highly experienced in the French aviation market and will continue to develop the business to the benefit of the clients and the employees. This has been a priority for us throughout the process.”

The transaction, which has now concluded, is not expected to have a material impact on Securitas’ balance sheet or cash flow.

According to the company, the sale supports its ongoing efforts to assess and refine its global business mix. “The divestment is part of our strategic execution where we will continue our assessment of our business mix and presence to enhance our performance and long-term competitive position,” Ahlqvist added.

WO Group, the acquiring party, is a local operator with an established footprint in France’s aviation security landscape. Industry observers suggest the group is well-positioned to maintain service continuity and support future growth in a sector that demands both regulatory compliance and a high level of customer service.

The sale reflects a growing trend among large multinational firms to streamline their operations and focus on high-margin, scalable services—especially in the face of rising competition and shifting customer demands across global security markets.
