Sparsh CCTV Joins Hands With Indian Railways To Secure Jammu Railway Division & Prayagraj Stations

Sparsh CCTV’s solutions include explosion-proof cameras, stainless steel cameras, and advanced video management software, all designed and manufactured in India

Sparsh CCTV, a prominent player in electronic surveillance, has collaborated with Indian Railways to fortify security and improve operational efficiency at the newly inaugurated Jammu Railway Division. This partnership, which coincides with the launch of three new trains, represents a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity between Kashmir and the rest of India. Additionally, Sparsh CCTV has played a pivotal role in safeguarding millions of pilgrims during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, setting a new standard for large-scale security solutions.

The Jammu Railway Division, a key component of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL), is a project of strategic and economic importance. It underscores the Government of India’s commitment to infrastructure development and national security by establishing seamless rail connectivity in one of the country’s most sensitive regions. Sparsh CCTV’s state-of-the-art surveillance systems have been instrumental in addressing the unique challenges posed by this ambitious initiative.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, Mr. Sanjeev Sehgal, Founder and CEO of Sparsh CCTV, said, “We are immensely proud to contribute to both the USBRL project and the Maha Kumbh, two monumental initiatives that reflect India’s spirit of progress and unity. By delivering innovative, 100 per cent Made in India solutions, we have reinforced our commitment to safety, quality, and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

Revolutionising Rail Security In Kashmir

The USBRL project is regarded as one of the most challenging railway undertakings in post-independence India. It features engineering marvels such as 38 tunnels spanning 119 kilometres, 927 bridges covering 13 kilometres, and the iconic Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest arch railway bridge, standing at an impressive 359 metres above the riverbed. Sparsh CCTV has deployed cutting-edge surveillance technologies, including fire and smoke detection, abandoned object monitoring, facial recognition systems, and train speed analytics, to ensure the safety and operational efficiency of this landmark project.

An integrated Command and Control Centre equipped with advanced AI capabilities, SCADA systems, and an Emergency Calling System facilitates real-time monitoring of train movements and signalling. This approach ensures improved safety, operational efficiency, and management. For the first time in India, a single original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has executed an entire railway surveillance system, setting a benchmark in the industry.

Sparsh CCTV’s solutions include explosion-proof cameras, stainless steel cameras, and advanced video management software, all designed and manufactured in India. These systems have been critical in tackling challenges such as monitoring overhead cable operations, detecting track obstructions, and integrating advanced LiDAR 3D technology to enhance operational efficiency in the rugged terrain of Kashmir.

Ensuring Security During Maha Kumbh

In Prayagraj, Sparsh CCTV played a key role in managing the massive influx of pilgrims during the Maha Kumbh. Comprehensive security measures were implemented across major railway stations, including Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj (PRYJ), Phaphamau Junction, and Rambag. The deployment featured cyber-secured STQC-certified cameras, end-to-end video management systems, and crowd management analytics, enabling seamless handling of large gatherings.

To oversee operations, Sparsh established an integrated control room, ensuring real-time monitoring and efficient crowd control. This robust security framework provided a safe and seamless experience for millions of pilgrims, further demonstrating the company’s expertise in managing high-stakes events.

Collaboration & Innovation

The implementation of this sophisticated surveillance infrastructure involved collaboration with key stakeholders, including RailTel, Konkan Railways, and Ircon, along with integrators like L&T, Tata, Honeywell, and Siemens. Sparsh’s advanced systems have addressed critical challenges while ensuring world-class safety standards for both the USBRL project and the Maha Kumbh.

With the inauguration of the Jammu Railway Division, the operational readiness of the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar symbolises the completion of the Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari rail link. This journey offers passengers a unique experience, crossing engineering marvels like the Chenab Bridge and the Anji Khad cable-stayed bridge.

The successful execution of these initiatives not only strengthens national unity but also underscores the importance of indigenous technological solutions in addressing complex security challenges. Through its collaboration with Indian Railways, Sparsh CCTV has reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and excellence in security infrastructure.
