Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom have signed a landmark agreement that will allow passengers arriving from British airports to bypass repeat security screening at Saudi airports.
The so-called “One-Stop Security Agreement” was signed between Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and the UK’s Department for Transport during a recent bilateral meeting. Under the arrangement, the two countries will mutually recognise each other’s airport security screening processes.
The move means travellers flying from or transiting through UK airports will no longer face redundant security checks upon landing in Saudi Arabia—a change that is expected to significantly reduce delays on the ground and speed up transfer times for connecting flights.
Officials say the agreement is designed to accelerate passenger movement, improve aircraft turnaround times, and support more efficient scheduling. It also marks a deepening of technical and security cooperation between the two countries, as both seek to enhance global air connectivity.
The deal aligns with broader efforts by the UK to strengthen international aviation links, while Saudi Arabia continues to push ahead with ambitious plans to expand its role as a global transport hub.
