Vehant Technologies Deploys AI-Based Under Vehicle Scanning System

With the installation, the security functions at both depots have been considerably improved

Vehant Technologies, an AI-based security and surveillance solution provider, has installed advanced Multiple Under Vehicle Scanning Systems “NuvoScan-E” in two of its key fuel storage and distribution facilities in a bold step to upgrade the security infrastructure. The system has been installed at IOCL’s Dumad depot in Vadodara and Zewan depot in Srinagar.

With the installation, the security functions at both depots have been considerably improved. These systems allow real-time high-resolution imaging of vehicle underbodies. It stores vehicle records for future audits, minimizing reliance on manual records. The system enables reliable threat detection & easily scans the underside areas within seconds, streamlining security checks, improving efficiency at refinery entry points, and reinforcing safety protocols at critical infrastructure sites like IOCL.

Commenting on the requirement of UVSS high-security and industrial zones, Vehant Technologies’ CTO and co-founder, Mr. Anoop G. Prabhu, stated, “We take pride in delivering our indigenously developed UVSS system to both government and private sector locations. Our UVSS will significantly enhance security operations at IOCL refineries by providing clear, distortion-free imaging of a vehicle’s undercarriage, regardless of its speed or movement. Leveraging electromechanical components, high-resolution cameras, illuminators, and sensors, it is an advanced automated Under Vehicle Scanning System. As part of our expanding range of smart surveillance offerings, UVSS has become indispensable in high-security industries such as oil & gas, transportation, defense, and airports.

At the Dumad depot in Gujarat, UVSS has infused much-needed velocity and reliability into vehicle scanning, having each truck and vehicle scanned in a matter of seconds without disrupting regular daily operations. At the same time, at Srinagar’s Zewan, the deployment is a key infusion of site surveillance. In this location, security risks are elevated, and scanning automation plays a crucial part in minimizing human exposure and improving scanning accuracy even during tense situations.

Over the last year alone, Vehant Technologies has installed over 20+ units at strategic oil and gas refineries such as IOCL, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd., GAIL, Petronet, and others. Until recently, personnel at these high-activity centers heavily depended on old mirror-and-spot-check vehicle inspection and manual check procedures, processes that were time-wasting, error-prone, and often could not detect well-hidden objects underneath vehicles. Such old processes were particularly time-consuming during more hectic logistics timetables and under conditions of adverse weather or low visibility.
