Cybersecurity Incident Impacts Infosys U.S. Unit, Initiates Investigation

Infosys, a prominent Indian IT service provider, disclosed on Friday that its U.S. subsidiary, Infosys McCamish Systems, faced a cyber security event, leading to the unavailability of certain applications and systems.

The company has taken immediate action, collaborating with a cybersecurity firm to address the issue. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, Infosys emphasised the critical nature of data protection and cybersecurity, stating, “Data protection and cybersecurity are of utmost importance to us.”

According to the firm, it has initiated an investigation in partnership with a leading cybersecurity products provider to discern the potential impact on systems and data. Infosys, known as India’s second-largest software services firm, underlined its commitment to resolving the issue promptly.

“We are working with a leading cybersecurity products provider to resolve this at the earliest and have also launched an independent investigation with them to identify potential impact on systems and data” ,said Infosys in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange.

The event underscores the growing concerns surrounding cyber threats faced by corporations worldwide. Infosys is actively working to rectify the situation and ensure the security of its systems and data.

This incident comes at a time when cybersecurity breaches are a global concern, emphasising the significance of companies taking proactive measures to safeguard their digital infrastructure.
