Covering the PAN India network of BSNL, this order from BSNL will upgrade its network infrastructure with indigenously designed and manufactured products.
HFCL, a leading provider of telecommunications solutions, has recently announced a major milestone in its partnership with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Securing a substantial purchase order worth Rs 141 Crore, HFCL is set to enhance BSNL’s network infrastructure with cutting-edge 4G and 5G backhauling solutions, indigenously designed and manufactured in India.
This comprehensive order, totalling Rs 179 Crore, encompasses both capital expenditure (Capex) and an annual maintenance contract (AMC). Of this, Rs 119 Crore is allocated for Capex while Rs 22 Crore is earmarked for the AMC. HFCL is on the verge of completing the supply against the current purchase order, with the remaining balance of approximately Rs 38 Crore expected to be released soon.
Under this significant agreement, HFCL will not only provide products but also offer a range of services to support BSNL’s 4G and 5G network requirements. From initial planning and on-site surveys to installation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing annual maintenance of microwave links, HFCL is committed to delivering a seamless and efficient solution.
The deployment will feature state-of-the-art 5GHz Unlicensed Band Packet radio systems (UBRs) boasting a capacity of 1Gbps, along with antennas, cables, and other essential accessories – all meticulously designed and manufactured domestically by HFCL. This end-to-end solution promises easy installation, effortless management, high reliability, and advanced security features to safeguard against external threats.
Moreover, this strategic investment will empower BSNL to build a robust 5G-ready network infrastructure, positioning it at the forefront of technological innovation in the telecommunications sector. Leveraging advanced technologies such as Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), HFCL’s Unlicensed Band Radios (UBR) offer substantial bandwidth capacity, paving the way for seamless integration of 5G advanced features like high speed, low latency, and enhanced reliability in wireless communications.
HFCL’s AI-powered Unified Cloud Network Management System (UcNMS) will facilitate efficient network management and application control, further enhancing the overall efficiency of telcos and enterprises.
Mahendra Nahata, Managing Director of HFCL, expressed profound enthusiasm regarding this landmark order, highlighting HFCL’s commitment to indigenous 4G and 5G technology solutions. He emphasised how this initiative perfectly aligns with the vision of “Self-reliance or Aatmanirbharta” articulated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
This monumental order from BSNL signifies a significant step forward in upgrading its PAN India network with locally designed and manufactured products. By embracing these advanced solutions, BSNL is poised to experience higher data transfer rates, lower latency, and enhanced reliability and performance, ultimately ushering in a new era of connectivity for millions of users across the country.
