CCTV footage captures suspect’s movements at Rameshwaram Cafe, four detained for questioning in connection with cafe explosion, Karnataka government coverage of medical expenses for blast victims
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called for a meeting with senior police officials following the blast at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe on Friday. The incident, which occurred on March 1, resulted in 10 injuries at the popular eatery frequented by celebrities.Authorities are actively investigating the blast, with CCTV footage capturing images of the suspect’s movements at the cafe and nearby areas. Officials expressed confidence in apprehending the culprit based on the leads gathered.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar revealed that the blast was caused by a small bag left by a youth, resulting in a low-intensity explosion. He assured citizens that the incident is being thoroughly investigated from all angles, with 7-8 teams formed for the purpose.
“We are positive about the leads we are getting in nabbing the culprit,” an official said.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Friday said that the Rameshwaram cafe blast is being investigated from all angles, adding that 7-8 teams have been formed to probe the incident.
Shivakumar also stated that a youth came and kept a small bag, which exploded after an hour.

In a significant development, four individuals have been detained for questioning in connection with the blast. The Central Crime Branch is conducting detailed interrogations of the detainees, who were picked up from Dharwad, Hubballi, and Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru City Commissioner B Dayananda affirmed that the investigation into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast, caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), is progressing swiftly.
In response to the incident, CM Siddaramaiah assured that the government would cover all medical expenses for the injured individuals. He noted that 10 people were injured, with three receiving treatment at Brookfield Hospital and six at Vydehi Hospital, all showing positive signs of recovery.
The government, while expressing confidence in apprehending the perpetrators, refrained from speculating on any specific outfit’s involvement in the incident. Instead, they hinted at the possibility of personal motives behind the blast.
