Four Noida Security Guards Arrested For Attacking Couple

Feeling unsafe, the complainant mentioned they would vacate the flat, SHO also noted another similar incident reported from the society on the same night

Four security guards from a high-rise society in Noida, sector 137 were taken into custody following accusations of assaulting a couple during a quarrel over parking on the apartment premises, as per officials. The incident took place at Paras Tierea society, with a video of the incident circulating widely on social media.

In the footage, a man and a woman can be seen being attacked by at least a dozen security guards armed with sticks, while residents looked on and recorded the violence.

Mukul, a resident of east Delhi who goes by a single name, was identified as the man in the video. He had been visiting his fiancée, a tenant of the society. Recounting the events, Mukul stated, “My fiancée’s car has a parking sticker issued by the society. It was given to the service centre on Thursday, so I came in my car to pick her up for an outstation trip on Friday.” He added, “Around 12.30 am, as I entered the society along with her in the car, the security asked us to stop, saying without the sticker, the vehicle cannot enter.” Despite their attempts to explain, the guards refused to let them enter, alleged Mukul in his police complaint.

“When I was requesting them to let us pass, they started misbehaving with my fiancée. When I protested and asked them to stop, they got aggressive and started assaulting me brutally with sticks,” Mukul recounted, mentioning that he promptly called the police.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Sector 142 police station, Vineet Rana, confirmed that a police team reached the scene around 12.40 am following Mukul’s call. Upon inquiry, it was revealed that the security guards had objected to the car lacking the parking sticker, leading to a verbal altercation escalating into violence.

“On the basis of the complaint, an FIR was registered under sections of assault, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult of the Indian Penal Code, and four security guards were arrested,” stated the SHO. The arrested guards were identified as Manish Kumar (24), Naresh Verma (22), Rakesh Pradhan (28), and Gopal Singh (30), all residents of Shahdara village.

In response, the estate manager of Paras Tierea facility management, Pawan Kumar, alleged that the couple instigated the attack. “The guards were provoked by the couple first. They started attacking the guards first after which all this started. The video was made after an altercation started between the two parties,” claimed Pawan Kumar.

Feeling unsafe, the complainant mentioned they would vacate the flat soon. The SHO also noted another similar incident reported from the society on the same night.

Members of the society Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA) disclosed that the security agency had been deployed by the AOA. When questioned about possible action against the agency, Col Ramesh Gautam, president of the AOA, responded, “It will be unethical to run two parallel investigations against guards when police have taken up the matter. The case is being probed and let the police take the decision.”

Dr. Hridesh Katheriya, additional deputy commissioner of Police, Central Noida, stated that the local police had been directed to serve a notice to the security agency regarding the incident. “We are in the process of sending a notice to the security agency and asking them to sensitise the workforce regarding criminal offences,” said the officer.
