The project becomes the largest one in the world in the transport sector, Herta has also been awarded two more regions that will be implemented after the Eastern one
In a major move to boost security, Indian Railways has rolled out Herta’s advanced facial recognition technology across its train stations in the Eastern region. This project marks the largest deployment of such technology in the transport sector globally and signifies a key step in enhancing passenger and staff safety.
Following the successful implementation in the Eastern region, Herta has been awarded contracts for two additional regions. This initiative aligns with Indian Railways’ commitment to adopting advanced technologies for improved security measures.
Herta’s facial recognition system has been installed in 230 train stations, utilizing thousands of surveillance cameras. Key features of this technology include:
Real-time Identification: The system offers real-time facial recognition, allowing for the quick and accurate identification of individuals within the station premises.
Enhanced Security: By automatically identifying and alerting authorities about individuals with potential security threats, the technology enhances the overall safety of passengers and staff.
Efficient Monitoring: Herta’s solution supports efficient monitoring of train stations, enabling a proactive approach to security management and quick incident response.
User-Friendly Interface: The system’s intuitive interface integrates seamlessly with existing security infrastructure, providing an easy-to-use experience for railway personnel.
Mr. Rahat Jain, MD of IDIS India, expressed his satisfaction with the deployment, stating, “We are delighted to announce the successful integration of Herta’s facial recognition solutions at Indian Railways.”
Startologic, the official partner overseeing the deployment, takes pride in being part of this transformative project. The successful implementation demonstrates Herta’s capability to meet the stringent security needs of one of the world’s largest railway networks.
