The new task force will focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address critical challenges in the private security industry
The Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) has announced the establishment of a national task force on “AI in Private Security Industry,” aiming to modernise and strengthen India’s private security ecosystem. The initiative is led by Srinivas Mahankali, a recognised expert in digital transformation technologies like Blockchain, Web3, Cybersecurity, Cloud, and AI, under the leadership of CAPSI Chairman Kunwar Vikram Singh.
CAPSI, which represents over 35,000 security agencies employing more than 10 million guards, safeguards over one lakh establishments and nearly half of India’s population. It has been instrumental in driving advancements in security management and contributing to national safety.
AI: Solution To Evolving Challenges
The new task force will focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address critical challenges in the private security industry, such as rising security threats, operational inefficiencies, and the urgent need for upskilling personnel. It plans to:
Identify potential AI applications for security systems within 60 days.
Pilot AI-driven surveillance and threat detection in key areas over the next six months.
Draft ethical guidelines for AI integration within 90 days.
Train 500 security personnel on AI tools within a year.
Srinivas Mahankali emphasised the transformative potential of AI for the sector:
“CAPSI will pioneer AI-driven security solutions, bringing efficiency, regulatory compliance, and enhanced community safety. We foresee AI seamlessly integrating into security frameworks to create a safer and more responsive ecosystem,” he stated.
New Era For Private Security
The initiative also envisions significant advancements in security operations, including predictive analytics, biometric authentication, and intelligent surveillance systems. Mahankali added, “AI will enhance capabilities like proactive threat mitigation, resource allocation, and quicker response times. In the next 24 to 36 months, we expect substantial adoption of AI-enabled solutions.”
This integration will include large-scale networks of IoT devices, drones, and CCTV systems, redefining India’s private security landscape. CAPSI’s efforts aim to set a global benchmark in private security management, fostering an innovative and robust framework for the future.
