One of the most important qualities that a leaders should have is entropy ~ Major Gaurav Arya
The capacity of a person or group to motivate and direct followers or members of a group, community, or organisation is known as leadership. In most facets of society, including business, politics, religion, and social and community-based organisations, leaders are present and necessary. People who make wise, sometimes challenging decisions are considered to be leaders. They set attainable objectives, express a clear vision, and give followers the information and resources they need to reach those objectives.Major Gaurav Arya (Retd.), Editor-in-Chief Chanakya Forum said, one of the most important qualities that a leaders should have is entropy. It is a state where there is confusion. Entropy is a state when there is lack of clear orders, lack of clear direction, and leaders are expected to make sense of the situation and in army we call it the fog of war.“Everybody looks towards the leader and if the leader starts looking scared, then the entire operation is gone. I remember when I was in the Army. I was posted along the Line of Control and there was never a single moment when I was not terrified. This is where leadership kicks in. It is to be lighthouse in a storm. Even when you’re scared and you’re terrified,” said Major Gaurav Arya (Retd.).He added, if you are a leader, your team will follow you into the jaws of hell. They will follow you everywhere and they will die for you. They will kill for you. The soldier who climbs 16,000 feet at Kargil, in minus 25 degrees doesn’t do it mere for salary but for his leader.
