ASIS International Unveils Inaugural Asia Pacific Regional Board For 2025

This newly formed leadership team will work to address the region’s unique security challenges while fostering professional development and strengthening collaboration

ASIS International, the world’s largest association for security management professionals, has announced the formation of its first-ever Asia Pacific (APAC) Regional Board, which will commence operations in January 2025. The board, established after an exhaustive nomination and selection process, comprises a diverse group of leaders representing various facets of the security industry across the APAC region.

New Leadership Team

The APAC Regional Board will steer ASIS International’s efforts in one of the fastest-growing and dynamic regions of the world. Leading the board are:
Chair : Danny Chan (Singapore) – 2-year term
Vice Chair : Paul Devassy, CPP (India – Bengaluru) – 2-year term
Secretary/Treasurer : Tyn van Amelsfoort (Hong Kong) – 2-year term

Additionally, the board includes five members appointed in June to serve terms of varying lengths:
3-year terms : Sanjay Kaushik (India – New Delhi) and Shane Norton, CPP (Australia – New South Wales).
Selected Members :
Serving 3 years: Ngaire Kelaher, CPP, PSP (New Zealand), Nurul Choudhury, CPP (Bangladesh), and Pascal Engler (Australia – Victoria).
Serving 2 years: Kanwal Kishore, CPP (India – Mumbai) and Victor Lim, CPP (Malaysia).
Serving 1 year: Paul Rachmadi, CPP (Singapore) and Daniel Holtsjo (Thailand).

Strategic Vision

This newly formed leadership team will work to address the region’s unique security challenges while fostering professional development and strengthening collaboration.

Oatridge, CPP , the organisation’s 2024 President. “Their collective expertise and diverse geographic representation will be instrumental in addressing the unique security challenges and opportunities in this dynamic region. I applaud the efforts of the Nominating Committee for their diligence throughout this process.”

Strengthening Regional Ties

The announcement follows years of growing interest and engagement within the APAC region. The Nominating Committee, led by **Wilfred Bradford**, included prominent security professionals from across the region, ensuring a balanced and thorough selection process.

“The calibre of candidates this year was exceptional, reflecting the growing strength and professionalism of our APAC security community,” Bradford noted. “This new board brings together the perfect blend of industry and volunteer experience, as well as regional understanding needed to drive our profession forward.”

The committee also included representatives from India, Australia, and Hong Kong, showcasing the region’s collaborative spirit.

The new APAC Regional Board aims to prioritise:

Tackling emerging security challenges specific to the Asia Pacific region.

This move is expected to significantly enhance ASIS International’s reach and impact within the APAC region, promoting excellence in security management while addressing evolving threats in a rapidly changing landscape.
