In a pioneering move, the Karnataka Police are set to implement an advanced artificial intelligence system aimed at combating the proliferation of fake news and cybercrimes.
The initiative involves the deployment of ‘agentic AI’, a sophisticated technology designed to detect and counteract misinformation across digital platforms. This development follows the integration of the state’s Information Disorder Tackling Unit (IDTU) into the newly established Cyber Command Unit (CCU) under the Home Department.
The IDTU, initially launched by the Department of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology, was created to address the escalating threat of misinformation. Its incorporation into the CCU signifies a strategic consolidation of efforts to enhance the state’s cyber defense mechanisms.
