SAFE West India Expo Showcases Cutting-Edge Security Solutions

Focused on addressing the current challenges and opportunities in the industrial safety and security sector of Western India, SAFE West India showcased a wide range of solutions and emerging trends in commercial security and surveillance

The second edition of SAFE West India, India’s prominent security and fire expo, was recently inaugurated by Informa Markets in India at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. Running from May 9th to 11th, 2024, the three-day event aimed to provide a key platform for industry stakeholders, government representatives, and security enthusiasts to collaborate and explore innovative solutions.

Focused on addressing the current challenges and opportunities in the industrial safety and security sector of Western India, SAFE West India showcased a wide range of solutions and emerging trends in commercial security and surveillance. The expo emphasised preventative technologies tailored specifically for the regional market.

The event saw participation from esteemed Indian brands specialising in security solutions, including Hikvision, Prama, Panasonic, CP Plus, TP Link, ZKTeco, ESSL, Biomax, Matrix Comsec, Securus, Voltaic Cables, Realtime, and Timewatch, among others. With over 75 exhibitors, attendees had the opportunity to witness the latest advancements in CCTV, surveillance, biometrics, access control, and automation technologies.

The exhibition was complemented by a two-day conference featuring presentations by over 40 industry experts. With more than 5,000 visitors in attendance, SAFE West India facilitated a dynamic environment for knowledge sharing and fostering industry growth.

Prof. Amol Deshmukh, Police and Cyber Advisor, Dept. of Home, Govt. of Maharashtra, highlighted the upcoming changes in legislation aimed at enhancing national and homeland security, while industry leaders such as Sandeep Sabharwal from Aditya Birla Management Corporation Pvt. Ltd emphasized the evolution of security towards integrated technological solutions.

Ashish P. Dhakan, MD & CEO of Prama Hikvision India, discussed the rapid adoption of AI, IoT, and cloud-based technologies in the Indian security market, with Hikvision unveiling its latest advancements in AI and robotics technology.

Anup Nair, President Sales, CP Plus, provided insights into the industry’s growth post-COVID, while Bijoy Alaylo, Vice President, Channel Networking & Surveillance, TP-Link India, discussed TP-Link’s diversification into the surveillance sector and its plans for the Indian market.

Speaking at the event, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, Informa Markets in India, emphasized the growing importance of security and safety infrastructure in India’s journey towards a $5 trillion economy.

Sanjeev Tiwari, ARVP, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) West India Region, and Vijay Goel, Vice President, Trade Association of Information Technology (TAIT), also highlighted the significance of technological advancements in addressing security challenges.

India’s Smart Cities Mission and the digital transformation sweeping the nation are driving growth in the security and network solutions market, with recent advancements in surveillance and security technologies contributing to market expansion.
