SIS Group Enterprises, a prominent global brand in security, facility management, and cash logistics, celebrated its 50th Founder’s Day on September 22, 2024. The occasion also marked the birthday of the company’s Founder and Group Chairman, Dr. R. K. Sinha, a respected figure in the industry.

Founded in 1985 with just two members, SIS has grown into a market leader in the Asia-Pacific region, providing essential services that contribute to the functioning of a healthy economy. Over the past five decades, the company has steadily expanded, now employing over 285,000 people, making it one of the top five employers in India.

A key driver of SIS’s growth has been its early adoption of technology. The company embraced a tech-led approach that has enhanced operational efficiency and delivered a unique customer experience. Digital platforms and applications such as iOPS, ARK, SalesMaxx, and MySIS app have played a crucial role in streamlining operations. SIS now operates one of the largest command centers in India, managing 500,000 sites and leading the e-surveillance industry.

SIS has steadily expanded its footprint beyond India, establishing a presence in 28 Indian states, 8 Union Territories, and international markets like Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. In addition to its #1 ranking in India’s security sector, SIS holds the top position in Australia, is ranked #3 in New Zealand, and #5 in Singapore. The company also leads the facility management sector in India and ranks second in cash logistics.

Dr. R. K. Sinha, whose birthday is celebrated as Founder’s Day, is credited with founding Security and Intelligence Services (India) Limited (SIS) in 1974, following the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The idea was driven by his desire to provide employment opportunities for ex-servicemen. His leadership and commitment to high-quality service helped SIS become a benchmark in the private security industry.

Dr. Sinha began his career as a journalist in the late 1960s, focusing on crime and political reporting. A graduate in Political Science and Law, he also authored several books, including *Jan Andolan*, an acclaimed research work on the student movement in India, and *Hotel Security & Executive Protection*. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Sinha has been a social activist and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), representing the party in the Rajya Sabha from 2014 to 2020.

His son, Rituraj Sinha, the Group Managing Director, has carried forward his father’s legacy. Under his leadership, SIS has grown into a Fortune India 500 company with annual revenues crossing ₹12,000 crore in 2024. Rituraj’s bold vision and strategic efforts have propelled the company to new heights, reinforcing its status as one of India’s largest private sector employers.

Dr. Sinha’s leadership philosophy remains grounded in employee welfare. “Look after your employees, and they will look after your clients, and your business,” he emphasizes. His philanthropic efforts are well-known, with SIS supporting various social causes, including educational programs for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This year, 15 students under SIS’s sponsorship secured admissions to prestigious institutions like the IITs and NITs.

As SIS moves forward, Dr. Sinha is confident that the company will continue its trajectory of growth, delivering value to its employees, clients, and investors while maintaining its leadership in security services, facility management, and cash logistics.
