The newly established Chimpu Police Station marks a major step forward in modernising law enforcement infrastructure
Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung inaugurated a series of significant initiatives by the capital police, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving community welfare, enhancing security, and advancing law enforcement practices. These initiatives are the result of the dedicated efforts of the Arunachal Pradesh Police, led by Director General of Police (DGP) Anand Mohan and Superintendent of Police (SP) Itanagar Rohit Rajbir Singh. Their innovative approach has strengthened community policing and victim support services in the state’s capital.
The newly established Chimpu Police Station marks a major step forward in modernising law enforcement infrastructure. Equipped with advanced facilities, the station aims to provide efficient and timely services to the public. This development enhances the resources available to officers while ensuring greater safety and accessibility for the community.
In a landmark move, the Women Police Station in Itanagar introduced *Ane’s Home*, a first-of-its-kind facility in India. This comprehensive centre integrates legal aid, trauma counselling, a safe space for children, and fitness and nutritional resources. The initiative adopts a compassionate and holistic approach to victim support, empowering survivors of trauma and abuse to rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence.
The Police Ajin Canteen, inaugurated within the Itanagar Police Station compound, serves as a dedicated space for police personnel to relax and connect. Beyond its function as a canteen, it fosters camaraderie and mutual support, contributing to improved morale within the force.
As part of the event, the official theme song for Operation Dawn, *“Roshni”*, was also launched. This initiative is part of Arunachal Pradesh Police’s anti-drug campaign aimed at eradicating substance abuse from the community. Conceptualised by DGP Anand Mohan, the anthem underscores the state’s commitment to building a healthier, drug-free society.
Home Minister Mama Natung commended the police force for their dedication and encouraged community participation in supporting these initiatives. “These projects reflect our shared vision for a safer and more progressive Arunachal Pradesh. Together, we can create a community grounded in security, welfare, and hope,” he stated.
These efforts mark a transformative step in Arunachal Pradesh’s approach to law enforcement, victim support, and community engagement, laying a strong foundation for a safer and more inclusive future.
