A series of pre-conference workshops led by cyber experts is scheduled from 7 to 9 October
The annual cybersecurity and hacking conference cOcOn 2025, organised by the Kerala Police in association with the Information Security Research Association, will be held at the Grand Hyatt here on 10 and 11 October. This year’s edition will focus on the prevention of child sexual exploitation and abuse, alongside discussions on the challenges posed by emerging AI technologies and the rise of organised cybercrime, the organisers said in a statement on Sunday.
A series of pre-conference workshops led by cyber experts is scheduled from 7 to 9 October. In addition, a 10-day training programme for investigation officers from cyber units across all States will run from 29 September to 9 October at the Kerala Police Academy, Thrissur, aimed at drafting an action plan to prevent child abuse.
A dedicated youth forum, designed to empower young people from South and Southeast Asia to combat online child sexual exploitation and abuse, will also be a key highlight. Govind Mohan, Union Home Secretary, will attend as the guest of honour, while Nathan Hamiel, senior director of research at Kudelski Security, will deliver the keynote address.
To complement the conference, the State Police have launched the sixth edition of their international hackathon, HAC’KP 2025, challenging participants to develop tools and systems for early detection and intervention to protect children online. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the conference.
