Sanjeev Sehgal, Managing Director and CEO of Sparsh CCTV, delivered the keynote address at the seminar. He discussed the recent Public Procurement Order (PPO) and Cybersecurity Requirements Order (CRO) initiatives, highlighting their transformative impact on the security industry. “These measures are crucial steps towards enhancing national security and protecting against cyber threats and data leakage,” Sehgal emphasized.

The seminar also featured a panel discussion moderated by Sehgal. He engaged in an insightful conversation with Ms. Asha Nangia, Scientist G and Group Coordinator at the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), about the considerations behind drafting the PPO and CRO for CCTV cameras with Essential Requirements (ER) for Cybersecurity, and their potential to boost domestic manufacturing.

Following this, A.V. Murlidharan, Director General of Government e-Marketplace (GeM), addressed queries regarding policy implementation on the GeM platform and its benefits to the industry. Ms. Aurosmita Kabiraj, Scientist D & Joint Director at the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), provided insights on incorporating additional ER requirements into BIS standards. Ms. Rashmi Bhangale, Assistant Vice President & Head PMO at Jio Platforms Ltd, discussed aligning Reliance’s CCTV infrastructure with the new policy.

In conclusion, Sehgal praised MeitY for enforcing the new policy, stating it significantly supports domestic manufacturers. He noted that ELCINA’s seminar fostered meaningful dialogue and collaboration within the electronics industry, paving the way for greater innovation and growth opportunities for local manufacturers.
