Powered by Staqu’s JARVIS platform, the system offers instant alerts to both police officials and ground staff, significantly boosting Gurugram’s surveillance capabilities
In a move to strengthen city-wide security, the Gurugram Police Department has teamed up with Staqu Technologies to deploy an AI-powered vehicle number plate recognition system. This new technology, integrated with existing CCTV cameras across the city, scans and verifies vehicle number plates by cross-referencing them with data from the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Any discrepancies, such as fake number plates or stolen vehicles, are flagged in real-time, enabling authorities to take immediate action.
Powered by Staqu’s JARVIS platform, the system offers instant alerts to both police officials and ground staff, significantly boosting Gurugram’s surveillance capabilities. This AI-enhanced vehicle monitoring system can recognize suspicious number plates, stolen or blacklisted vehicles, and send real-time alerts for swift police intervention.
In the first two days after its implementation at two key locations, the system identified around 1,500 vehicles, providing an impressive glimpse of its efficiency. In addition to tracking vehicle numbers, the technology also helps officers search for vehicles based on their physical attributes.
Atul Rai, Co-Founder & CEO of Staqu Technologies, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “We are honored to partner with the Gurugram Police Department in their mission to enhance the safety and security of the city. By deploying our JARVIS platform, we aim to contribute to reducing crime and ensuring a safer environment for the residents of Gurugram. Given that our headquarters is also based in Gurugram, this initiative holds special significance for us.”
Mr. Rai further added that Staqu’s AI solutions are currently being used across 11 states, helping police departments improve their operations. “We strongly believe that technology should serve the greater good, and it is our privilege to support initiatives that make people feel more secure in their daily lives,” he said.
The initiative has already gained praise from Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora, who highlighted its positive impact on the department’s operations. “The implementation of Staqu’s AI-based technology has already proven to be a game-changer for us. In just a few weeks, we have successfully identified and apprehended several vehicle-related defaulters. This collaboration marks a significant advancement in our surveillance efforts, and we look forward to continued success in enhancing public safety.”
Staqu Technologies is known for its expertise in audio-video analytics and AI-powered security solutions. The company has worked with several state governments to improve homeland security and has been involved in securing high-profile events like the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration and the G20 Summit. The rollout of the JARVIS platform in Gurugram is another step in their mission to leverage AI for public safety and national security across India.
