Drones equipped with artificial intelligence conducted aerial surveillance across Ayodhya, while anti-mine drones inspected the ground for potential threats
On 22nd January Ayodhya witnessed a historic event-the consecration ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi. The city was abuzz with devotees, and to ensure their safety, a comprehensive multi-layer security cover was put in place.
The security measures included the deployment of 10,000 CCTV cameras and drones equipped with artificial intelligence. These technological tools played a crucial role in monitoring the movement of people throughout the city. Policemen in plain clothes were strategically placed at various locations, ensuring an extra layer of security.
The streets, from Dharam Path and Ram Path to the bylanes of the Hanumangarhi area and Asharfi Bhavan road, were patrolled by vigilant police personnel. The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) also conducted patrols in Ayodhya to maintain a secure environment.
Drones equipped with artificial intelligence conducted aerial surveillance across Ayodhya, while anti-mine drones inspected the ground for potential threats. The anti-mine drones, operating at a height of one meter above the ground, utilised advanced technology such as spectrometer wavelength detection to identify underground explosives.
Apart from technological measures, movable barriers with barbed wires were placed at prominent crossings to regulate traffic, especially during VVIP movements. The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony held on Monday was a historic event, and the Uttar Pradesh Police had made elaborate security arrangements, ensuring safety across the red zone, yellow zone, and Ayodhya district.
To enhance security at the program venue, 10,000 CCTV cameras were installed throughout the Ayodhya district, some of which utilised AI-based technology for vigilant monitoring. Police personnel with multi-lingual skills were deployed in plain clothes at the event venue to maintain a discreet presence.
The security along the Saryu river was also increased with the assistance of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams. Coordination with other agencies, checking at international and inter-state borders, and the use of drones for crowd control and diversion were all part of the meticulous security plan.
As the event unfolded, these security measures ensured a safe and memorable experience for the devotees and participants. The successful implementation of technology and manpower showcased the commitment of the authorities to safeguarding the sacred ceremony in Ayodhya.
