Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) Launches Comprehensive Online Training Series on Cyber Security and Safety
In response to the increasing prevalence of digital learning in school curricula, the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) is proud to announce an extensive online training series focused on cyber security and safety for both students and teachers. This initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), aims to equip educators and learners with essential skills to navigate the digital landscape securely.
The primary objective of the CIET cyber security training series is to establish robust security measures that encompass strong network defences, regular software updates, and user education. These measures are critical in safeguarding against potential cyber breaches, protecting personal data, and ensuring a safe digital learning environment.
Upon successful completion of the training series, participants will gain proficiency in the following areas:
1. Understanding the Fundamentals: Participants will grasp the core concepts of Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile security.
2. Identifying Vulnerabilities and Risks: The training will empower learners to identify potential vulnerabilities and security risks within digital environments.
3. Implementing Robust Security Measures: Participants will comprehend and apply resilient security measures for IoT devices and mobile applications, including encryption, authentication, and access controls.
4. Enhancing Incident Response and Recovery: The training will enhance participants’ ability to respond effectively to security incidents and facilitate a swift recovery process.

CIET emphasises that mobile devices, much like desktop computers, have evolved into versatile hubs that often contain a wealth of personal and financial data, rendering them attractive targets for cybercriminals. Moreover, the interconnected nature of these devices amplifies the potential impact of a security compromise. In light of these circumstances, it is evident that comprehensive education regarding mobile and Internet of Things security is imperative.
