Explosion Near CRPF School In Delhi’s Rohini, No Casualties Reported

A video recorded by a local resident shows a cloud of smoke rising from the site of the blast

An explosion occurred near the CRPF school in Delhi’s Rohini area early this morning, causing damage to a school wall and nearby property. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. The blast happened around 7:47 am in Prashant Vihar, Sector 14. Forensic teams and officers from the Delhi Police special cell have arrived at the scene and are investigating the cause of the explosion.

A video recorded by a local resident shows a cloud of smoke rising from the site of the blast. The eyewitness shared, “I was at home. I heard a loud sound, saw a cloud of smoke, and recorded the video. I do not know anything more. A police team and an ambulance have reached the spot.”

Senior police officer Amit Goel stated that experts have been called in to determine what led to the explosion. In an update, police mentioned that no suspicious materials had been found yet, and an underground sewage line was being examined as part of the probe.

Residents in the area reported that the explosion shattered windows of nearby cars and damaged signboards of local shops. “Today at 07:47 hrs, a PCR call was received, informing that a loud blast had occurred near CRPF school, Sector 14, Rohini. Upon arrival, officers found the school wall damaged and detected a foul smell. Windows of nearby shops and a parked car were also damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured,” the police said in an official statement. The police also confirmed that forensic teams, a bomb disposal squad, and fire brigade personnel were on-site, and the area has been cordoned off for further investigation.

Police sources have hinted that a crude bomb might be responsible for the explosion, though nothing conclusive has been found yet. The National Security Guard (NSG) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) have also been informed and may join the investigation. A white powder-like substance discovered at the site has been sent for forensic testing.

An FIR has been registered under the Explosives Act, and the case will soon be handed over to the special cell of the Delhi Police. The NIA, CRPF, and NSG are all actively involved in the investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to determine if anyone was responsible for planting the bomb. While investigations are ongoing, police are not ruling out the possibility of a conspiracy.

The situation remains under close watch as authorities continue to probe the incident.
