Covering various key aspects of the security domain, the report covers technology, services, and employment trends. SIA and ASIS collaborated with Omdia to carry out the research.
According to the associations, the report serves a broad audience such as security practitioners in end-user roles, solution providers, equipment manufacturers, and other stakeholders in the security sector.
Key highlights from the report include:

-The global physical security equipment market is anticipated to reach a value of $60.1 billion in 2024, signaling a recovery phase post the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, this market is projected to expand to $70 billion by 2026.

-The overall physical security equipment and services market presents a substantial figure, amounting to $405 billion in 2023. This figure is expected to reach nearly $500 billion by 2026.

-The employment landscape within the physical security market encompasses over 30 million individuals worldwide. Specifically, there are approximately 210,000 people employed in the equipment market, around 7.87 million in the services market, and a staggering 22.6 million individuals serving as security end users.

SIA CEO Don Erickson expressed his views on the report, emphasising its significance in providing crucial economic insights into the global security industry’s importance. He noted that the report offers valuable foresight into the industry’s growth over the next three years.

Collaborating with the analytics and advisory firm Omdia, the industry groups have endeavored to compile this comprehensive research. Notably, the exclusive report is available free of charge for members of SIA and ASIS.
