Minister also praised the significant accomplishments achieved through the cocon conference within the state.
State Revenue Minister P. Rajeev said Kerala is a prime example of effective cyber security governance, highlighting the state government’s ability to ensure robust cyber security measures. He made this statement during the closing session of the 16th edition of the cocon, an international cyber conference that commenced in Kochi on Friday. Minister Rajeev also praised the significant accomplishments achieved through the cocon conference within the state.
“The state government is capable of providing adequate security to the cyber arena. The government is also providing necessary support to this sector by establishing the Digital University in the state. Kerala is a state where the internet is ensured through K-Fone in every house,” the minister said.
He further said that the cocon is a role model for the Indian cyber security sector, which is making the necessary innovations for cyber security.
“Cocon is capable of creating cyber security experts among the next generation,” P Rajeev added.
Hibi Eden MP led the proceedings, with Mayor M. Anilkumar as the chief guest. The event also saw the presence of ISRO Chairman S. Somanath, actor Mamta Mohandas, and various other dignitaries.
On the preceding Friday, during the conference’s inauguration, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan underscored the imperative to tackle the escalating problem of cybercrime across the country.
“Though we are making revolutions in the technological field, the number of cyber crimes is rising. It is necessary to quickly update the changes in the cyber field and move forward,” the governor said.
He highlighted the importance of staying updated with advancements in the cyber field and called for international cooperation in combating cyber crimes.
