CP PLUS & L&T Team Up To Manufacture 9 Mn ‘Made in India’ Security Chips

The landmark strategic alliance between CP PLUS and L&T Semiconductor Technologies aims to cement India’s technological sovereignty by producing high-security, indigenous chips for surveillance systems

In a significant stride towards fulfilling the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) vision, CP PLUS, a major player in security solutions, has forged a landmark partnership with L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT), a wholly owned subsidiary of engineering giant Larsen & Toubro.

The agreement commits CP PLUS to manufacturing 9 million IP cameras over the next three years, each powered by LTSCT’s indigenously designed Vision System-on-Chip (SoC) technology. This strategic move is poised to transform India’s security infrastructure by ensuring that the core intelligence of its vast surveillance network is built on domestic technology.

Secure Surveillance & Data Sovereignty

The chips, designed entirely within India, are foundational to the partnership’s claim of enhancing national security. The SoCs support high-resolution imaging up to eight megapixels, but critically, they are built with advanced cryptographic architecture. This feature is designed to provide robust protection for sensitive data, ensuring enhanced cybersecurity across the millions of surveillance points where these cameras will be deployed.

“This partnership represents a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering world-class security solutions powered by Indian innovation,” said Aditya Khemka, Managing Director of Aditya Infotech Ltd (CP PLUS). He framed the deal not just as a business venture but as a contribution to India’s broader technological mission.

“By integrating LTSCT’s advanced SoC technology, we are creating surveillance solutions that are smarter, more secure and built on India’s own technological foundation.”

Nurturing  Domestic Ecosystem

The collaboration underscores a powerful alignment between two Indian industry leaders and directly addresses the urgent need to localise the semiconductor supply chain. Sandeep Kumar, Chief Executive of L&T Semiconductor Technologies Ltd., highlighted the broader mission behind the technical specifications.

“Our alliance with CP PLUS underscores the power of collaboration between two Indian leaders in technology and innovation. At LTSCT, our mission is to design semiconductors that are not only energy-efficient and high-performing but also foundational to India’s technological sovereignty.”

This alliance is expected to yield substantial benefits beyond product manufacturing. By drastically reducing dependence on imported chipsets, the agreement is set to strengthen India’s position in the global security supply chain while simultaneously fostering critical innovation and creating employment opportunities within the domestic electronics sector.

The joint effort signals a mature phase in India’s technology ecosystem, where ambitious security needs are met through homegrown, cutting-edge chip design, fulfilling the mandate to proudly build in India for the world.
