Conference in Visakhapatnam highlights the critical need for robust digital defences against sophisticated attacks and data theft

Cybersecurity experts at a recent conference in Andhra Pradesh have warned that robust digital defences are now more crucial than ever to protect against data falling into the wrong hands. The “CyberSecure Andhra-2025” conference, organised by the CII Andhra Pradesh Chapter, brought together industry leaders to discuss the evolving threat landscape in the digital age.

Speakers at the event highlighted that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and quantum computing has created new vulnerabilities for both individuals and businesses. Ramu Venigandla, founder of Eficens Systems, stressed the importance of aligning new technologies with strong cybersecurity to protect critical infrastructure.

The conference also addressed how AI is being used by both attackers and defenders. Brijesh Balakrishnan of Infosys noted that while AI is enabling more sophisticated cyber-attacks, it is also being deployed for real-time threat detection and response.

A major topic of concern was the future of data security in the age of quantum computing. Ajay Kulkarni of IBM warned that quantum computers could render current cryptographic systems obsolete, underscoring the urgent need for new solutions such as Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC). In response to this threat, Sanjay Chittore from Quantum AI Global unveiled a new PQC framework.

The discussions also focused on practical, real-world vulnerabilities and the steps needed to build a secure digital ecosystem. The event served as a critical platform for experts to share insights on how to stay ahead in the escalating arms race between cybercriminals and security professionals.
