A large fire broke out in a factory in Delhi’s Alipur area on Saturday evening, prompting the deployment of 34 fire tenders to control the blaze, officials reported. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing, according to a Delhi Fire Service (DFS) official.
The fire, located in the Firni area of Alipur, was first reported to the DFS around 4 p.m., setting off an immediate response. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi acknowledged the severity of the incident in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), noting that she was closely monitoring the situation.
“The incident is worrisome,” Atishi said, adding that she has been in regular contact with the district magistrate and assured that “all possible official help” is being provided to contain the blaze and manage the situation on the ground.
Fire officials believe that the warehouse might have been used to store paper and chemicals, though they are still confirming details. Emergency personnel continue their work to prevent the fire from spreading and to assess any potential hazards related to the stored materials.
