IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub Launches Cyber Security Vocational Programme

The initiative aims to enroll up to 50,000 students, marking a significant step towards enhancing cybersecurity expertise in India

IIT Kanpur’s C3iHub has launched a new ‘Cyber Security Vocational Programme’ in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) Kanpur and the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Innovation Foundation (CSJMIF). The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The six-month online course is designed to equip students with essential skills in cybersecurity. It covers various topics including system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography, and IoT security. According to IIT Kanpur, the programme aims to provide both fundamental knowledge and practical experience through customized labs available to each student via the Cyber Range.

An official statement from IIT Kanpur highlighted that the training includes hands-on experience and industry-relevant knowledge, preparing students for successful careers in cybersecurity. C3iHub will provide virtual labs for practical exercises, technical help desk support, certifications for course participation and completion, and final assessment results for all students. CSJMU will ensure the smooth execution of the program, while CSJMIF will offer a platform to run the programme.
