India has introduced its first-ever artificial intelligence (AI) security certification program, the Certified Security Professional for Artificial Intelligence (CSPAI). This initiative is a collaboration between the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and cybersecurity leader SISA. Launched at SISA’s headquarters in Bengaluru, the program aims to equip professionals with the skills needed to secure and manage AI systems in increasingly complex work environments.
Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-In, highlighted the growing need for security in AI, stating that the ANAB-accredited program is designed to address the evolving threats in AI cybersecurity. “This course is perfectly aligned with the rapidly changing landscape of AI, and will open up new opportunities in AI-related job roles,” said Bahl.
Dharshan Shanthamurthy, Founder and CEO of SISA, emphasized that the program complements SISA’s broader initiative, Cyber Nalanda, aimed at addressing future cybersecurity challenges. According to him, the training will enhance organizations’ security postures, minimize breaches, and foster greater trust with customers and stakeholders. “By equipping professionals with the tools and knowledge to safeguard AI systems, we are building a safer digital future,” he said.
