India & UK To Enhance Cybersecurity Collaboration

India and the United Kingdom have agreed to deepen cooperation between their cyber agencies to build a secure and robust cyberspace, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday. The agreement was reached during the Sixth Cyber Dialogue held on Wednesday.

“Discussions during the dialogue included cyber-threat assessment, internet governance, data protection, protection of critical infrastructure, capacity building, and cooperation in multilateral fora, including the latest developments in the cyber realm at the United Nations,” the MEA statement said. Both sides committed to strengthening their collaboration to enhance cybersecurity measures.

The dialogue was co-chaired by Amit A. Shukla, Joint Secretary of the Cyber Diplomacy Division at MEA, and Kat Jones, Head of Strategy and Engagement at the Cyber Policy Department of the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).

Representing the UK were officials from the National Cyber Security Centre, the Cyber Policy Department of the FCDO, and members of the Cyber Policy Team of the British High Commission.

“Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation between their respective cyber agencies in order to build a safe and robust cyberspace,” reiterated the MEA in its statement, underscoring the importance of the partnership in addressing the evolving challenges in the cyber domain.
