India Gets HAPS, Pseudo Satellite That Enables Advanced Surveillance, Monitoring Of Borders
Officials said the meeting also focused on increasing surveillance of suspected anti-national elements

Jammu and Kashmir’s top police official has directed district police to step up scrutiny of social media platforms to stop the spread of misinformation that could threaten public safety.

The order came during a security review chaired by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat at the Police Control Room in Kashmir, where senior officers assessed the region’s security climate and discussed ways to reinforce existing defences.

Zonal inspector generals and heads of specialist wings briefed the DGP on ongoing anti-terrorism operations and recent actions across the Union Territory. Officials said the meeting also focused on increasing surveillance of suspected anti-national elements and strengthening area domination patrols.

Police called for extra protection of vulnerable sites and urged improved community policing and public outreach to counter rising street crime. Police said the expanded monitoring of social media is intended to prevent false information from fuelling tensions or undermining security efforts.
