Rapid7 (NASDAQ:RPD), a leading cybersecurity firm, has announced the expansion of its operations in India with the establishment of a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune. The new hub, set to open in April 2025, aims to strengthen the company’s global security operations, foster cybersecurity talent, and drive artificial intelligence (AI)-led innovations.

The Pune centre will play a key role in supporting Rapid7’s global security strategies, offering advanced cybersecurity solutions tailored to evolving digital threats. CEO Corey Thomas described the expansion as a step towards enhancing the company’s AI-driven security capabilities.

“Our investment in India reflects our commitment to delivering cutting-edge security solutions. The Pune GCC will help us scale our operations, develop cybersecurity talent, and leverage AI for threat detection and response,” Thomas said.

The company is also focusing on industry engagement in India. Sabeen Malik, Rapid7’s Vice President of Global Government Affairs, will be participating in the Raisina Dialogue, where she will discuss digital security challenges and policy frameworks. Additionally, Rapid7 plans to host Security Day events in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore in May, bringing together experts to address emerging cyber threats and advancements in AI-powered security.

The expansion comes as businesses worldwide face an increasing number of cyberattacks, prompting companies to enhance their security infrastructure. With a growing demand for AI-integrated cybersecurity solutions, Rapid7’s move into India is expected to contribute to both regional and global security efforts.
