Amit Shah Opens Two-day National Security Strategies Conference

Top Police officials, experts, and young officers gather to tackle key National Security challenges

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the two-day National Security Strategies Conference on Friday, bringing together senior police officials, domain experts, and young officers to discuss critical challenges to national security and explore potential solutions. The conference aims to foster collaborative thinking on addressing the country’s most pressing security issues.

In his address, Shah revealed the DGPs/IGPs Conference Recommendations Dashboard, developed by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). This platform is part of the implementation process for decisions made during the annual DGPs/IGPs conference, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The National Security Strategies Conference is being held in a hybrid format, with over 750 officers from across India participating. Junior Home Ministers Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Home Secretary Govind Mohan, additional and deputy national security advisers, and heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organisations (CPOs) are attending the conference in Delhi.

Before opening the conference, Shah laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Column, paying tribute to police personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The concept of the National Security Strategies Conference was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the DGPs/IGPs conference. The objective is to find effective solutions to major national security challenges through discussions involving a unique mix of senior police leadership managing these issues, young officers working on the frontlines, and domain experts from specialised fields.
