Tata Elxsi, part of the Tata Group, is teaming up with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore to create robust cybersecurity solutions for the automobile industry. Tata Elxsi’s knowledge in artificial intelligence and machine learning, focusing on software-controlled vehicles and electric car solutions and IISc’s strong research capabilities.
The main goal is to deal with the security challenges that come with the complex networks of sensors inside cars and the new software that makes driving better. Cars are now more connected, which means they’re at risk of being hacked or having personal data stolen. They will be working on making cars more secure using artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect and stop threats. Alongside, they are also focussing on looking into possible future security problems.
Prof. G Rangarajan, the Director of IISc, is excited about this partnership, as IISc always wanted to work with businesses to make new things in the security of connected cars. Prof. Rajesh Sundaresan, who leads the program at IISc, pointed out that a grant from Tata Elxsi helped set up an AI lab and supported students in their AI program at IISc.
Tata Elxsi is a well-known company that helps various industries, like cars, communication, and healthcare, use new technology to improve their products and services. They do this by using things like the internet, mobile apps, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on creative problem-solving.
Speaking at a function to mark the launch of the collaboration, Mr Manoj Raghavan, CEO & MD of Tata Elxsi said, “As vehicles increasingly rely on digital technologies, ensuring cybersecurity is paramount. With IISc’s partnership focusing on cybersecurity solutions and products, we are sure our clients and automakers can build safer, more resilient vehicles while providing peace of mind to end customers.”
